BIO
Dimitris Rizos is the head architect and has been the director of the firm since 1996. Dimitris was born in Athens in 1954 and graduated from the Paris School of Fine Arts in 1979 (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts). He became active in the firm in 1974 and collaborated with his father on several architectural works, showing extraordinary attention to detail and a passion for interior design and decoration. He has broadened the scope of the firm with his appreciation for simplicity and functionality, and with his customized approach to designing homes and buildings which are unique. Dimitris has preserved the firm’s character of distinctiveness and uniqueness and has modernized its vision, valuing simplicity and functionality, appreciating the aesthetics of modern classic architecture, and applying a philosophy of customized interior design and decoration. Dimitris oversees all construction projects. He speaks Greek, English and French.

The firm has designed and directed the construction of over 400 works in Greece and abroad, including houses and luxury estates, summer houses, residential complexes, office and store buildings, hotels, museums, public buildings and landscaping projects.
Recently the main focus of the firm has been on luxury urban and summer estates. Some of the materials that are commonly used include Greek marble and oak combined with stainless steel.
SERVICES
Our services include Architectural Design, Structural Design and Electromechanical Design, Interior Design and Decoration, Direction and Supervision of Project Construction, as well as Maintenance, Renovation, Restoration, and Upgrading. The firm also undertakes urban and coastal Landscaping Projects.
Architectural design, and interior design and decoration, use classic and modern materials that realize the client’s wishes in a simple, practical and aesthetically pleasing manner. The architectural design begins with discussions with the client that culminate into the drafting of initial hand-drawn designs. These designs are then shaped into the final architectural plans and a 3D virtual representation of the house is created that the client can review and contribute to. Structural and electromechanical plans are also designed, with detailed electrical, electronic and plumbing infrastructure plans for the house. The energy consumption of a house or building is considered in every design of Rizos Architects. At the same time, interior design and decoration are indispensable in creating a sense of balance, beauty, and character within a house or building. As soon as the city planning commission issues the construction license, the firm proceeds to plan, direct and expedite the construction process with the use of the construction plans.
We are active in all stages of an architectural and construction project from start to completion.
HISTORY

Rizos Architects was founded in 1947 by Jason Rizos in Athens, Greece.
During the 1950s and 1960s, Jason Rizos developed a distinctive architectural style which was at once classical and contemporary. He was an avid art lover and collector and had a cosmopolitan social life. His family home entertained painters, sculptors, musicians and singers, actors, politicians, designers and other representatives of the arts and sciences of Greece and the world.
Jason Rizos, whose designs during the 1950s and 1960s established him as an icon of contemporary Athenian and Greek architecture.
Today, Rizos’ work is regarded as classic and has added character and elegance to the city.
Jason had an artistic and avant-garde temperament which led him to invent new ideas and applications that would constantly find their way into his architectural design.
